He was a California state senator (1959-62), a member of the central committee of the San Diego County Democratic Party (1951) and a delegate to the Democratic National Convention (1952,1956,1960). The collection consists of correspondence, hearings, notes, speeches, legislative bills, and other printed material compiled during Hugo Fisher's term as a California state senator from 1959-62.
